The Grip
The way you grip/hold the club is like the key to your car; if the grip is not correct than the car is not going to start/work. It amazes me how many people have a poor grip and wonder why they are struggling to hit the ball the way they want to.
In this month’s tip we take a look at “The Grip”. I’ll show a couple of handy tips / check points to get your grip correct.
Here are three examples of the good, the bad, and the plain ugly:
‘The plain ugly’! When you look down and to get only see maybe one knuckle in each hand and the club is mainly sitting in the palms not the fingers. With this type of grip, golf is not going to be difficult; it’s going to be near impossible.

‘The bad’. When you look down, you can see all the knuckles of your left hand and none of the knuckles in your right hand. This grip will encourage you to either hit a low sweeping hook or a low weak slice if you don’t release your arms and body correctly.

“The good, sound grip”. Is one that enables your wrists to work efficiently and square the clubface up easily. At address you should see two to three knuckles in your left hand and one to one and a half knuckles in your right hand, The Grip should be sitting more in your fingers than your palms.
